One of the oldest liqueurs still made by the famous old Bols Company, who have been distilling since 1575. This bottling was first produced in the 19th century.
Originally, the liqueur was made by macerating apricot kernels in brandy barrels, with the mixture then re-distilled. These days the bottling is made with apricot kernel distillate, which is blended with brandy and fresh apricot juice. The kernels are crushed prior to distillation, creating a nutty, marzipan-like flavour.
The brandy offers flavours of ripe tropical fruits such as mango and banana, apricot, Amaretto, lemon zest, candied orange and toasted almond.
Certainly more complex than the average apricot brandy, this bottling is perfect for all sorts of cocktails, such as the Hotel Nacional Daiquiri.
