A remarkable single cask bottling from Speyside distillery, Benriach.
This 1994 dram forms part of Benriach’s celebrated Cask Edition series and was originally selected by La Maison du Whisky. The single malt has been aged for over a quarter of a century in a single Pedro Ximénez Puncheon.
Such a long maturation, in such a powerful cask, has produced a spirit of incredible richness.
Drinkers can expect notes of syrupy figs, raisins, sultanas, ginger bread, toffee, crunchy malt, sherry-soaked oak, cinnamon, vanilla, cloves, stewed plums, dark chocolate, black pepper, red wine, grapes, nutmeg, cherries and leather.
Bottled at a cask strength of 53.7% ABV, this is a luscious, opulent whisky.
Just 646 bottles were produced.
