Quite extraordinary single malt from BenRiach.
Made with some of the oldest spirit in the BenRiach reserves, this is a beautiful, well-matured whisky. Unusual, in that it is a peated Speysider, this BenRiach is the next rung up from the also very good 21 Year Old Authenticus.
25 years of maturation in what is suspected to be sherry, Port and former Bourbon casks has produced a stunningly complex and enjoyable whisky. Drinkers can expect bold fruity flavours to open this whisky, followed by an intense, warm and earthy peat, with some herbaceous and floral notes, and a strong charred oak with dense honey and vanilla flavours.
Bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration, this ensures the full, smokyy flavours of this dram can be enjoyed.
A cracking peated whisky, demonstrating that drinkers should look beyond Islay to get their smoky sippers!
