Aged exclusively in new oak casks, the Auchentoshan Virgin Oak does something that is rather unusual for Scotch whisky, even more for a Lowland whisky. One would think that the light and fruity spirit of Auchentoshan would be overpowered by the highly active new oak casks, fortunately this is not the case—they managed to bottle this expression just at the right time, creating an absolutely brilliant whisky. This is the 2nd batch.
