An elegant, triple distilled whisky from Lowland distillery Auchentoshan.
This bottling replaced Auchentoshan’s 10 year old, previously a staple of the distillery’s range, in 2011, offering a little more age and depth.
This dram has been double matured in Oloroso and Bourbon casks, producing a well balanced dram, packed with complexity and flavour.
Auchentoshan 12 opens with gentle notes of pressed flowers, honey and oat biscuits, accompanied by a little light oak and orange rind. Stronger notes of vanilla, Bourbon oak, dried fruits, sherry and spice take hold, finishing with a little drying grassy malt.
A classic example of the Lowland style, this would make a great introduction to Single Malt whisky, or a good mild daily drinker.
