Rather confusingly, Tanqueray has two gins under the name “Export Strength”, one for the UK market, and one for the American market. This is the latter, and befitting of that great nation it is bigger in everyway: a big litre bottle and a higher ABV of 47.3% means the flavours of this wonderful gin have even more bombast! With its distinctive green glass stumpy bottle, Tanqueray is a familiar sight in bars across the world, recognised for its quality globally. This classic design was first introduced in the 1920s, when a range of premixed cocktails were sold by Tanqueray in bottles made to resemble cocktail shakers. The pre-mixed cocktails may have fallen by the wayside, but Tanqueray remains a favourite of cocktail bartenders the world over, who value its rich mouthfeel, pine-like aromas and citrusy, zesty palate. These remarkable flavours are due to Tanqueray using an extraordinary amount of juniper to make their spirit, considerably more than other market leaders. A real connoisseur’s favourite, and top quality gin at an extraordinarily good value price, highly recommended.
