A blackcurrant infused gin from historic English gin producers, Tanqueray.

This bottling is said to have been inspired by the travels of Charles Tanqueray, the company founder. He visited France in the 1840s, where he encountered crème de cassis, a popular French black currant liqueur.

Fittingly, this gin (which offers up notes of vanilla, fresh flowers, juicy red berries and traditional gin botanicals) does wonderfully well as a replacement for cassis in a ‘Kir Royale’.

It’s also delicious served simply with ice and tonic water, and garnished with a slice of lemon.
