Another cracking 8 year old Talisker from the Diageo Special Releases, continuing the tradition of 8 year old bottlings from this distillery.

The 2021 Special Releases has the theme of ‘Legends Untold’, with the label of this whisky featuring a fearsome sea dragon – a reference to both the distillery’s maritime home, and its powerful flavours.

This dram has been aged in casks that previously held heavily peated whisky, really amping up the peaty nature of Talisker’s spirit.

The end result is a whisky that offers vanilla, thick peat smoke, grilled pineapple, seaweed, salt, woodsmoke, peaches, black pepper, burnt malt, heather honey, smoked caramel, chili powder and charred oak.

Bottled at a cask strength of 59.7% ABV this is a powerful and intense dram.
