A big one liter bottling of Sipsmith’s flagship expression, which is largely responsible for their excellent reputation.
This spirit begins with the highest quality English wheat spirit, which imparts a soft and supple mouthfeel to the gin. This spirit is then flavoured with ten botanicals: Juniper berries, Coriander Seed, Angelica Root, Liquorice Root, Orris Root, Ground Almond, Cassia Bark, Cinnamon, Orange Peel and Lemon Peel.
The gin is distilled in stills built at Christian Carl, a family run German business that has been in the business of constructing stills since 1869. Prudence, the first of Sipsmith’s three stills (now accompanied by Constance and Patience) is an ingenious cross between a pot and column still, and was the first new copper still in London for nearly two centuries.
The final result is a bold and intensely junipery gin, with subtle notes of liquorice, spice, bright citrus rind and some earthy herbaceousness. A classic London Dry with a wonderful, bittersweet profile.
Perfect for a Martini.
