A delicious, well-aged Rhum Agricole from Saint James, a distillery found in Martinique.
Whilst not the most well known of the Martinique distilleries, Saint James is right up there with the very best of them. The distillery was founded as a plantation (under the name Saint Jacques – later changed for marketability in the Anglophone world) over 250 years ago. Saint James make a high quality of Rhum Agricole, and distil using column stills, to create a fragrant and light spirit.
Matured for 7 years in former Bourbon casks, the heat of the Caribbean means that this rum has developed an extraordinary complexity in a short space of time.
Drinkers can expect flavours of vanilla, cedarwood, cigar smoke, pineapple, mango, bananas, brown sugar, lime rind, mocha, and old oak.
Bottled at 43% ABV for a touch more intensity, this is a well-crafted rum in every respect.
