This bottling was the first unpeated whisky from the family-owned Grallet-Dupic distillery’s Rozelieures range.
Rozelieures whisky is made using barley grown by the distillery in the South West of France, which is then malted and distilled in a Charentais still at their distillery in the Lorraine. This makes the distillery one of the last in Europe to maintain their own maltings.
After distillation, the spirit has been aged in former Bourbon and Cognac casks, alongside some new oak barrels.
Rozelieures Subtil brings flavours of sweet vanilla custard, apples, pears, oak, subtle wood smoke, honeysuckle, cinnamon, caramel, nutmeg, cloves, sweet crunchy malt, oily citrus rind and honey.
Sweet malt is perfectly accompanied by the big bold fruit and vanilla of the casks used.
