The first single malt whisky made by the Grallet-Dupic distillery for its Rozelieures range. This was also the first whisky to be distilled in the Lorraine region of France!
This whisky is made with the distillery’s own barley, grown in South West France, which is then malted and distilled at its distillery just outside of Strasbourg.
After distillation, the spirit has been matured in a combination of Sherry and Cognac casks.
The end product is a whisky that offers notes of caramelised apples, tinned pears, toasted malt, almonds, preserved cherries, citrus rind, sandalwood, leather, tobacco, nutmeg, cinnamon, walnuts and oak.
A nutty, fruity dram – this would be a great introduction to French single malts.
