Also known as No. 35, this is one of the best bottlings from one of the most highly regarded estates in Cognac. Ragnaud Sabourin grows all of their grapes in the premier cru of Grande Champagne, widely seen as the finest area in the Cognac region. This is a classic Grande Champagne cognac, long aged in French oak casks, and offering an incredibly fresh character. The nose on this Cognac offers delightful floral aromas and grassy freshness, with a slightly herbaceous quality accompanying the sweet grape notes. The palate is thick and luxuriant with the oak casks coming more to the fore, with a greater intensity of sweet grape notes and sweet floral flavours. The finish lingers with woodspice, fresh hay and toasted oak. All these flavours benefit from being bottled at the slightly higher strength of 43% ABV. Once again, Ragnaud Sabourin continues to meet its own high standards.
