Produced at the Chateau Montifaud, this is a fine Cognac which is the product of over 6 generations of knowledge. Indeed, the current owner (Michel Vallet) is the grandson of Pierre Vallet, who gave his name to the house. The distillery retains a traditional method of production, passed on from generation to generation. They continue to distil with lees, and prioritise the soil quality of their vineyards, believing in the power of terroir. They mature in the finest Limousin oak barrels, which age slowly in the Chateau’s cellars. Being an XO Cognac, the spirit is a minimum of 6 years old, but in reality this bottling is much older, somewhere between 18–22 years old. This is a tremendous XO Cognac, rich with decadent flavours of dried grape, floral bouquet, toffee and dusty oak. Presented in a delightful decanter style bottling, this is one of the very best Cognacs in the extensive Fine Drams range.
