Pierre Vallet 22 Year Old 1995 (Cask #291)
70 cl, 48%

A superb single cask Cognac produced by the Vallet family at Chateau Montifaud.

The Vallet family have produced Cognac at the Chateau for over 6 generations. The current owner is Michel Vallet, the grandson of Pierre Vallet, who gave his name to the house.

This distillery maintains a traditional method of production, with a heavy emphasis on the quality of the soil, and a belief in terroir. Vallet continue to distil with lees, and mature their spirit in the finest Limousin oak barrels, left to age slowly in the Chateau’s cellars. This spirit has been produced using grapes from the Petite Champagne cru.

This is a magnificent 1995 vintage, distilled in December of that year, and bottled in September 2018, following 22 years of aging.

The Cognac serves up flavours of dense vanilla custard, rancio, flowers, espresso, tobacco smoke, charred oak, cedarwood, dried grapes, toffee, prunes, figs, cinnamon, cloves, and dessert wine.

Bottled at 48% ABV for extra warmth and body, just 480 bottles of this Cognac were produced worldwide.
