Pineau des Charentes from the noble Cognac house of Normandin-Mercier.

This bottling is a combination of two-thirds freshly pressed white grape juice (including some very old Ugni Blanc) with a third of one year old Cognac.

The blended liquid is then aged in an oak cask for five years, producing a deeply flavoursome, sweet and fruity liqueur.

This Pineau des Charentes serves up notes of dessert wine, spicy Cognac and subtle oak, vanilla, fresh apple and pear, peaches, flowers, almonds and figs.

Enjoy this chilled, as an aperitif or a in place of a dessert wine.
