A very special bottling of Cognac from Normandin-Mercier, named after the distillery’s Chateau home, and produced for the brand’s 140th anniversary in 2012.
Made using grapes entirely grown in the Grande Champagne cru, this Cognac has aged for no less than a quarter-century in oak casks. The wood for these casks was harvested from the distillery’s own estate, from trees that were over 100 years old.
The result is a deeply flavoured Cognac, with notes of blond tobacco, figs, pears in syrup, peaches, prunes, raisins and dried apricot, soft spice, vanilla, toffee, dark chocolate, espresso, intense oak and rancio.
A marvellous expression. Only 1,000 bottles were made.
