One of the all time classic Caribbean rum bottlings, distilled in Barbados in one of the oldest distilleries still in production. This is a typical Bajan style of rum, produced using cane grown on the island, which is some of the highest quality sugarcane in the world. The island sits on a bed of coral limestone, which is a natural water filtration system, ensuring that the water that the distillery uses is of the finest quality. Mount Gay also uses copper pot stills to produce a thick, flavoursome rum, alongside column stills which create a spirit with an excellent fresh quality. This rum is named after a remarkable event: the appearance of Halley’s comet, at the same time as a solar eclipse. Equally remarkable is this delicious spirit, which is rich in banana, butterscotch and pineapple flavours. Perfect in cocktails or drunk neat, a top notch Bajan rum that continues to set the standard.
