The classic Bajan rum from Mount Gay, which was first created in 1910.
Mount Gay distillery has been operational for over 300 years, making it the oldest commercial rum distillery in the world.
Eclipse was named after the double phenomenon of 1910: the passage of Halley’s comet and a total eclipse of the sun.
Mount Gay distills molasses, which is filtered through natural coral and fermented with an exclusive yeast. This rum is made using both double pot stills, and column stills. The spirit from each respective still is matured separately in former Bourbon barrels for about 2 years, before being blended together.
The result is a fully flavoured, semi dry rum, with notes of tropical fruits (banana and pineapple particularly), flowers, honey, vanilla, toasted oak, burnt sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and all spice.
An excellent example of the Barbados rum style, this is one of the best value for money rums on the market today.
