An interesting American whiskey from cult favourite distillers, Michter’s.

The US*1 Unblended is a corn whiskey, but not a Bourbon, as it has been aged in American oak casks that have held Bourbon already. American law states that all Bourbons must be aged in virgin casks. It is created with the same care and attention that Michter’s give to their Bourbons however.

This is a surprisingly fruity American whiskey, with plenty of apple and pear notes, alongside some creamy vanilla and caramel, and a little apricot.

Another superb whiskey from this distillery, and one that offers an interesting look at what Bourbon would be like if refill casks were allowed.
