A French gin produced by Calvados-makers Christian Drouin.
This gin is centred around a pair variety called Domfront, which are usually used to produce pear cider and brandy in Normandy, giving it a unique fruity flavour.
Traditional gin botanicals, including juniper, vanilla, lemon, pepper and iris root are also used. Irises are a common sight in Normandy, with the flowers growing along the ridge of the region’s old fashioned thatched cottages.
The gin itself offers refreshing flavours of pears, flowers and bittersweet juniper, with a little black pepper spice and citrus adding complexity.
An interesting gin with a real sense of place.
