An excellent Brut (low sugar dosage) Champagne from Laurent-Perrier. Founded in 1812, Laurent-Perrier is one of the bestselling Champagne houses in the industry. It is the largest family owned Champagne house.
La Cuvée replaced Laurent-Perrier’s Brut NV (which was the fifth bestselling Champagne bottling on the market) in 2017. At the time it was the first new wine introduced by the brand in over 30 years. As a Cuvée wine, this has been made with only the first pressing of the grapes.
This is an excellent iteration of their wine, made with 55% Chardonnay grapes, with the remainder coming from Pinot Noir and a little from Pinot Meunier. Aged for for 4 years on lees, this wine has tremendous complexity and finesse.
Drinkers can expect notes of brioche, pastry, lime rind, strawberries, peach, red apple, cream, grape blossom and honeysuckle. The wine has a good level of acidity and persistent, fine bubbles.
Crisp, delicious, and refreshing, this is a perfect aperitif Champagne.
