A high quality, extremely spicy gin produced at the oldest distillery in England.
Jodhpur Spicy is made with a base of specially selected grain alcohol, whilst the botanicals here have been inspired by the flavours of India, with an array of spices native to that country used. These include: ginger, ajowan seeds, cumin and black cardamom. Some other interesting ingredients are added, most notably red chilli, and white and black pepper, which gives the gin a serious kick.
The spirit is distilled four times, with a special citrus mash added to the still during the final distillation, so as to preserve the fruits’ delicate flavours.
The final result is an intensely warming gin, which serves up notes of peppery spice, chilli heat, piney juniper, chopped herbs, some fragrant cardamom, and bittersweet citrus notes.
A really interesting offering in what is now a very contested market. Jodhpur Spicy would certainly add an edge to most cocktails, and would do particularly well in spirits-forward drinks such as the Negroni.
