An expertly crafted artisanal Cognac from Jean-Luc Pasquet.

The Paquet estate dates back to 1730, but Jean-Luc only began producing Cognac there in 1971. Found in the Grande Champagne cru, Pasquet maintains a small 7.5 hectare vineyard, which is planted with a mixture of 16% Folle Blanche, 8% Montils and 76% Ugni Blanc grapes. These grapes are hand-harvested in the traditional manner, and fermented with local yeast strains. No sulphur is used at the Pasquet estate, and wines are kept in tanks to prevent oxidation. The spirit is double distilled in a Copper pot still only during the two month distillation season. Pasquet mature their spirit in 400 litre Limousin French oak casks.

With such a long and storied history, it is no wonder that Jean-Luc was feeling nostalgic as the year 2000 closed in. For this bottling, Jean-Luc combined the best Cognacs from the 1990s. It was the final blend created by Jean-Luc before his son, Jean, took the reins. These vintages, from 1991 to the year 2000, were blended in 2008. Just one barrel was bottled in 2017, at Cask Strength, with an outturn of 500 bottles.

With an average of 23 years, this Cognac is packed with complexity and depth.

Jean-Luc Pasquet Nostalgie delivers flavours of dried figs and prunes, toasted almond, rich dark oak, vanilla, chocolate, banana, crème brûlée, cedar, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, citrus peel, tobacco, leather, apricot, a little fudge and rich plum jam.

A glorious offering, and fantastic value for money; the higher proof of 45.6% ABV gives this dram great intensity.
