A lovely, well-aged bottle of Islay Mist blended Scotch. This brand was first launched in 1920s, as a bid to recreate a blend first used for the Lord Magdalene’s 21st Birthday. It tempers the bold peaty flavour of Islay malt whiskies with more gentle, unpeated offerings of grain and malt from the mainland. 17 years in oak casks further mellows this whisky, allowing more delicate flavours to come to the fore. On the nose, the blend offers excellent balance of smoke, sweetness, and maritime notes, with good core of malty toffee, whilst the palate is full flavoured and decadent. The finish brings waves of lasting smoke and woodspice. A real testament to the art of blending, that will appeal to both the peat-fans, and drinkers of the mainland whiskies.
