The “Deluxe” offering from this excellent value blend, Islay Mist was first launched in the 1920s as a replication of a blend served at the Lord Margadale’s 21st Birthday. This is a fantastic blended whisky that carefully balances the Islay malts with gentler whiskies from the mainland. The whisky has a good dose of top quality Islay single malts, such as Laphroaig and Caol Ila. On the nose this dram serves up a gentle peat quality, with good toffee and fruity aromas. The palate brings a delicious crisp and sweet cereal note, with a little earthier peat and some woodspice. The finish is short and sweet with a lingering smoke. A great daily drinker for the peat-heads out there.
