Another striking design from Highland Park.
This bottling was created in collaboration with Danish tattoo artist Colin Dale, from the Skin & Bone studio. The distillery state that it is designed to celebrate the tattoo as a mark of both “standing apart and being part of a tribe”. The imagery is based upon the Norse legend of the Midgard snake also known as “the world serpent” which twisted around the earth itself, with its tail in its mouth.
The spirit has been aged for 16 years, matured in a mixture of first fill Bourbon barrels and Rioja wine seasoned casks.
The result is a rich, full bodied dram which offers up notes of gentle peat, red wine, red berries, peaches, vanilla custard, wood smoke, sea spray, oak, peppery spice, burnt malt, orange rind, grassy earth, butter and wine tannins.
The whisky is bottled at 46.7% ABV and without colouration.
Strictly limited in bottles.
