Grosperrin N°71 Petite Champagne Cognac (Lot N°642)
70 cl, 48.1%

A beautiful Cognac from one of the region’s most sort after and prestigious crus, Petite Champagne.

This spirit has been bottled by the highly acclaimed Grosperrin company. The Cognac was originally produced by a small scale winemaker in the region. It entered into joint ownership in 1992, following the death of the winemaker’s wife. When the heirs inherited the deed to this stock, this spirit was some of the oldest in the inventory, entered as number six in the log.

The spirit aged in a family cellar located on the banks of the Né river in the Archiac commune of Cognac, known as one of the most remarkable terroirs in Petite Champagne. Whilst not a vintage spirit, we do know this dram is a minimum of 33 years old.

The drinker can expect notes of rich waxed wood, with candied apricots, citrus rind, ripe plums, figs in syrup, honey, prunes, delicate flowers, oak, toffee, gentle white grapes and soft vanilla. An elegant and sophisticated Cognac, an excellent example of Petite Champagne spirit.

Bottled at 48.1% ABV, this is a Cognac with great body and structure.
