A well aged Moût Muté au Cognac (a kind of pineau) from Cognac experts, Grosperrin.
This bottling combines red and white grape must with Cognac produced from grapes at the same vineyard, ensuring a final product which is faithful to the vineyard’s terroir. Moreover, the director of Guilhem Grosperrin personally visits each producer to ensure the quality and methods of the products he buys.
This MMC has been aged for no less than 25 years. The liqueur comes from a winemaker operating on a rocky promontory close to the Segonzac department of the Charentais appellation. The MMC was aged for a lengthy period on lees, in small barrels and casks, before being transferred to Grosperrin’s Chermignac cellars in 2019.
The final result is a rich, rancio heavy liqueur with plenty of oaky flavours. Drinkers can expect rich black fruits, dark chocolate, prunes, forest floor, thick syrupy sweetness, prunes, cinnamon and sugared grapes.
A fascinating and intense liqueur that is a cut above most of in its style. This ultra small batch liqueur is presented in smart, modernist designed bottles.
Exellent, rich taste.
