A wonderful single lot Cognac from Grosperrin.
Made exclusively with grapes grown in the Borderies cru. Indeed, this lot of Cognac was purchased from a retired winegrower based in the Burie commune, where it was grown on one of the best situated hillsides in the cru.
The spirit is described as “very old” and “extremely rare” by Grosperrin – first aged in a small cellar in the Borderies, before finishing maturation in Grosperrin’s cellars in Saintes.
The result is a lush, full bodied Cognac, with notes of pot pourri, vanilla, sandalwood, toffee, old oak, figs, dried mango, grapes, raisins, milk chocolate, creamy floral honey, black pepper, cinnamon and cloves.
A remarkable spirit, and a perfect encapsulation of its terroir.
