A Grosperrin Cognac of a truly rare quality, made with grapes grown in the premier cru of Grande Champagne.
This Cognac was produced by a family of winegrowers found in the Angeac-Champagne area of Grande Champagne. Owners of the estate rarely sell their lots, making this bottling all the more rare.
The Cognac is ‘very old’, having been aged for many years in a small clay-floored cellar, before completing its maturation in Grosperrin’s Saintes cellar.
The spirit itself brings flavours of candied apple, pear and orange, vanilla, snappy white grapes, rancio, old oak, cedarwood, toffee, oily nuts, jasmine, some soft cloves and ginger, green apples and waxy citrus rind.
Bottled at 47.3% ABV, this is a full bodied, rich spirit. A perfect example of mature spirit from the most highly regarded Cognac cru of them all.
