A truly remarkable single vintage Cognac, bottled by Grosperrin.
Distilled all the way back in 1973, this is an extremely well aged spirit, made using grapes grown in the Petite Champagne cru.
This spirit was sourced by Grosperrin from a well established family of notaries in the Cognac region - with this stock passed down from the father to his son and wife as part of his estate. The lot originally came from one of the notary’s clients, the president of a large Cognac house in Petite Champagne.
The Cognac has aged for more than 45 years in casks, reaching full maturity, and perfectly demonstrating the characteristics of Petite Champagne’s chalky soil.
This bottling offers flavours of toasted almond, figs, black pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, dark chocolate, blond tobacco, sultanas, sandalwood, stewed plums, cedarwood, old oak and slight leather.
Only 217 litres of this rare Cognac were bottled.
