A fantastic single vintage Cognac that was distilled all the way back in 1969.
This single lot Cognac, selected by Grosperrin, was made with grapes grown in the Petite Champagne Cru.
The lot originally belonged to a prominent family of notaries, with the patriarch of the family receiving the spirit as a gift from a client – the president of a ‘Grande Maison’ of Cognac. The spirit has been aged for many decades in oak casks, including a period at the Organisation économique du Cognac, prior to completing maturation at Grosperrin’s own cellars.
This 1969 Cognac is packed with flavour. Drinkers should expect notes of ripe, rich summer berries, pears, apples, white grapes, prunes and figs, fresh flowers (jasmine and honeysuckle), leather, tannic oak, nutmeg, citrus rind, vanilla and sandalwood.
A spirit of a rare age and quality.
