A well aged Cognac, bottled by the highly esteemed Grosperrin House.
This spirit has been distilled from grapes grown in the unique terroir of Île d'Oléron. One of the ‘Cognac Isles’, Oléron is the second largest island of Metropolitan France, and has been renowned for the quality of its grapes for millennia. The sandy soils and proximity to the ocean gives Cognacs from this cru a delicious maritime quality.
This particular Cognac was produced by a single farm, which ceased operations in 2007. The spirit has been aged for 18 years in total, developing tremendous complexity.
Drinkers should expect notes of sea spray, sweet oaky spices of nutmeg, vanilla and cinnamon, toffee, dried flowers, old oak, sultanas, fresh apple and pear, white chocolate and a little black pepper.
A distinctive and full bodied Cognac, which benefits from being bottled at 50.1% ABV.
