Glengoyne, which sits just inside the Highland-Lowland boundary, is known for producing high quality sherry cask whiskies. This travel retail offering is no exception, a delicious dram, finished in PX casks.
Pedro Ximénez is the sweetest of Spain’s sherries, and possesses a syrupy, fruity quality. With this bottling, the whisky has been aged initially in American and European oak casks, before it is finished in the sherry casks for an extra layer of flavour.
The result is a fruity, sweet and rich whisky, with notes of honeyed almonds and walnuts, lemon rind, burnt sugar, vanilla, dark oak, dried fruit, nutmeg, sweet grapes and toasted malt.
Bottled at 46% ABV and natural in colour, this Glengoyne has a medium body.
