Wow! A powerfully peated whisky is the latest addition to the Glen Moray “Classic” line. The usually clean-cut Speysider enrobes itself in wisps of smoke in this delicious bottling. A little like a Laphroaig in some ways, there is lots of medicinal seaweed smoke in this whisky, balanced against classic Speyside apples and pears, vanilla and honeysuckle. A relaxed dram that doesn’t quite bombard the palate with peat in the Islay-mould, but adds a little smoke to its character. A perfect dram for those who still want a touch of peat, but with a little change of pace.
