Glen Grant is known for shining at higher ages, and this bottling is a perfect demonstration of the style.
First introduced in 2016, when the distillery tweaked their standard range, this Glen Grant has developed wonderful depth of flavour and complexity across its 18 year long maturation.
The bottling offers up almost a Platonic ideal of a Glen Grant whisky, delivering notes of rich floral honey, crunchy malt, raisins, sultanas, warming spice, creamy vanilla, apples, buttery nuts, crisp oak, and brown sugar.
The whisky is presented at 43% ABV, giving it a little more body and intensity, but retaining its approachability.
In 2020, this bottling completed an astonishing hattrick, picking up Jim Murray’s Scotch Single Malt Whisky of the Year for the third year in a row. Mr. Murray deemed this dram worthy of a whopping 97 points.
