A big bottle of this powerful whiskey, first introduced by industry giants Evan Williams (distilled at Heaven Hill) in 2012.
This Bourbon is made with a mashbill of 78% corn, 12% malted barley, and 10% rye, giving the spirit more of a chewy, malty character and less of a spicy rye profile.
The term “Bottled-in-Bond” was first introduced in the late 19th century, as a means of reassuring drinkers of the quality of the Bourbon. “Bottled-in-Bond” retains this prestige to this day. Amongst other specifications, a whiskey has to be a production of one distillery, one distillation season, one distiller, be a minimum of 4 years old and bottle 50% ABV. These stipulations tend to produce a high quality dram.
This bottling is one such example, which serves up tonnes of beautiful caramelised corn flavours, alongside some prunes, cinnamon spice, apples, ginger, charred oak, vanilla, cherries, and some slight rye spices.
Great value for money, this is a top notch Bourbon.
