A fabulous Japanese gin produced by the Akita Distillery, found in the prefecture of the same name on Japan’s Honshu Island.
The distillery is found close to the coast and to the Ōu mountains - the largest mountain range in the whole of Japan. These two geographic features have a significant impact on the eventual flavour of the gin, with notes of freshness and maritime salinity.
The gin itself has been macerated for seven days with botanicals of Japanese bitter orange peel, juniper berries, liquorice root, angelica and coriander.
The end result is a powerfully citrusy gin, with notes of zesty bitter orange, earthy spice, bittersweet juniper, pine, chopped herbs, root beer and liquorice candy.
Makes a bright and flavoursome Gin and Tonic.
