A lovely bottling of Puerto Rican rum from the Destileria Serrallés found in Ponce in the south of the island. This distillery has been producing a high quality of rum since 1865, with the sugar refinery first established in 1820. The distillery claims that due to the heat of the Caribbean, they lose up to 10% of their spirit to evaporation. This rum has been aged in American oak barrels for between 3 and 10 years. The result is an alluring, almost Cognac-like spirit, featuring flavours rich dried fruits with dense vanilla. Don Q Añenjo picked up a gold medal at the 2016 London Rum Masters. This rum has a bar-friendly bottle and makes a wonderful base for a range of cocktails. A lovely one to sit with and think of the Caribbean!
