Don Q is the top selling and most loved rum produced in Puerto Rico. This particular offering is a new addition to their portfolio. Bottled at a whopping 151 proof, or 75.5% ABV, this is a robust and warming golden rum, aged for a minimum of 3 years in oak casks. The rum is pleasantly flavoured, with dense caramel, fruits, maple and spices. That said, the Overproof offering is not designed to be drunk neat, but to be used in cocktails. Overproof rum commands a special respect in the Tiki cocktail tradition particularly, where it has often been used to give a bit of power and flavour to even the most complex mixed drinks such as the Jet Pilot.
