A bottle of Deanston’s 12 year old whisky, which was relaunched in 2017.
This whisky has been aged in former Bourbon barrels, perfect for showcasing Deanston’s supple, slightly citrussy spirit. The constituent barrels are married together in virgin oak for a few weeks prior to bottling, ensuring full integration of flavour and imparting a little oaky brightness.
Deanston 12 year old delivers notes of orange rind, gingerbread, ripe apples, warming spice, lemonade, vanilla, bright oak, cinnamon, grainy sweetness, flowers, lemongrass, and honey.
A supple and velvety dram, with a proof of 46.3% ABV and no chill filtration or colouration.
A Highland dram that shares a lot of characteristics with the traditional profiles of its Speyside and Lowland cousins, this whisky would make a perfect daily drinker.
