In years gone by, Pennsylvania was a heartland for rye whiskey production, somewhat similar to how Kentucky dominates the production of bourbon these days. A genuinely small batch production, this whimsically designed whiskey is a throw back to to the old days of rye in the Keystone State. Produced with a mash-bill of 80% rye, 15% malted barley, and interesting enough, 5% malted rye. This is a delicious dram, offering wonderful spicy rye flavours in addition notes of dill, dried fruit, buttery oak and woodsmoke. Bottled at a warming 45% ABV, this is a welcome return to quality distilling in Pennsylvania.
