The Citadelle Reserve Gin used to be just a barrel aged version of their classic, unaged gin, but, in 2012, three new botanicals—yuzu, cornflower, and génépi—were added to the existing recipe of 19 botanicals for the specific purpose of oak ageing. Once distilled, this gin spends 6 months in French oak barrels at Chateau de Bonbonnet. Overall, this is a more rounded and more complex gin than its unaged counterpart.
