The Citadelle Gin is produced by Maison Ferrand in France, who don’t only love cognac – which they are most famous for – but also gin. At Maison Ferrand, they strongly believe the botanicals other than Juniper are just as important as the juniper itself, as Juniper isn’t more than just a base that needs other botanicals to support it. Of the 19 botanicals used for this gin, the most important are cinnamon from Vietnam, nutmeg from the Caribbean, and black genepi (a herb known from absinthe and Chartreuse).
