Initially destined just for the Japanese whisky market, this is a wonderful Chivas Regal blend. This bottling was inspired after the Master Distiller Colin Scott visited Japan, picking up a few tips on blending from their own, finely honed, blending industry. This is a wonderful blend of grain and malt whiskies, none of which are aged for any younger than 12 years old. The blend is partially aged in Mizunara (or Japanese oak), which is exceedingly rare in the Scotch industry, and pretty expensive to get hold of. This oak is known for granting a specific sandalwood and coconut flavour. This whisky has wonderful notes of toffee, peaches and vanilla, with a beautiful coconut cream note and a touch of aromatic spice. A excellent dram, and one that is fairly limited outside of Japan.
