Once described as “the blend for grown-ups” this is undoubtedly one of the world’s most famous whiskies. The Chivas brand can trace their history all the way back to 1801, when they first opened a grocers and luxury goods shop in Aberdeen. They made their name selling then gourmet ingredients and foodstuffs such as coffee, spices and tea. 50 years later, the Chivas company started producing whisky- but it wasn’t until prohibition was repealed that the famous 12 year old expression first appeared. Despite the long history, there has been no dip in quality, with delicious herbaceous notes and honey and slight dry fruit filling the palate. A true classic, and marvellous value for money.
