A very old single cask release from Armagnac’s largest producer. The highly acclaimed Chateau du Tariquet distillery has existed in its current form since 1912, and has seen five generations of the Grassa family as managers.
This Armagnac isn’t quite as old, but still sits in the dignified Hors D’Age category. Drawn from just one French oak cask, “Fut” (barrel) no. 16. Over its long maturation this Armagnac has developed lovely notes of apple, pear, dark oak, coconut, vanilla, dense toffee, rum-soaked raisins and slight wood-smoke.
The spirit is bottled at a very warming cask strength of 52.8% ABV. Just 857 bottles were produced from this cask, each coming with its own charming wood-effect gift box.
