Signatory Vintage continue to impress with their excellent eye for single cask whiskies, with this quarter-century old Bruichladdich a phenomenal addition to their Cask Strength.
One of our very favourite distilleries, “Progressive Hebridean Distllers” Bruichladdich are known for producing a fabulously creamy and floral spirit. This particular bottling was distilled on the 26th of September 1990 and bottled on the 2nd of November 2015, having aged for a full 25 years in a Refill Butt (cask number 141). This long maturation process has developed stupendous notes of orchard fruit, toffee, malty chocolate, bananas and dusty oak, with a creamy mouthfeel and a floral aroma.
This whisky has been bottled at a hefty 58% ABV, allowing the intense flavours of this spirit to fully express themselves. As always with the Signatory Vintage Cask Strength range, the whisky has been bottled without chill filtration or colouration.
Being a single cask release, stocks are highly limited, with just 619 bottles produced, each coming with their own Signatory Vintage tin. A classic “Laddy in every respect, with the simple clarity of flavour that has made this unpeated Islay whisky so popular.
