An intriguing release from Bladnoch – this is the first product from the Australian-owned distillery to be peated.
The whisky takes its name from ‘Alinta’ - a word found in several Southeast Australian indigenous languages which means fire or flames.
The spirit itself has been aged in PX Sherry and former Bourbon casks, producing a bottling which has notes of sweet dried fruits, smoked prunes, cherries, thick peat smoke, burnt honey, dark chocolate, marzipan, toffee, cinnamon, charred oak and macadamia.
An impressive drop – and an exciting experiment from this distillery.
